Hoping someone can help me solve why Native Instruments Absynth 4 runs so choppy and slow on my system with Buzz. The Audio is not choppy, but the GUI sticks and goes slow and I have to wait for it to respond again.

Windows Vista 32bit. latest buzz

thanks

hmmmm no problem here with absynth 5 on the latest build....maybe it's something in the polac vst settings?

Absynth 5 also runs smoothly for me inside Buzz... have you got the latest polac vsti loader?

I was using Absynth 4 until last week, it seemed to be working fine as well.

Hi, I didn't check the latest Absynths but i remember that they required some sort of special handling. As a rule the vst host is responsible for the gui update. By default a host calls update() only if the editor is visible, however Absynth was one of the plugin that required a call all the time even with no visible gui. However since vst2.4 this is obsolete so Absynth 5 possibly does not rely on it anymore. Btw I did add an option to preferences/global to set the gui update rate by hand, perhaps this may help here too(?).

Thanks Polac, that seemed to help the slow/sluggish and slight freezing quite a bit, but it still exists a little bit, but much more usable. :)
