Re: gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work? PAR

I now have a working gear.xml! Thanks! I have no idea why my previous gear.xml was not working,
and since it was deleted I can not find out, but I guess there must have been some tag which didn't belong there.

Re: gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work? PAR

mute wrote:delete it and reinstall
gear.xml is not included with install I think (as I mentioned before), anyway I tried deleting gear.xml and re-installing latest build,
it does not come with any gear.xml, and I can not locate such a file on my hard-drive anymore (using file search)...
what to do?

Re: gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work? PAR

I am merely trying to make the point that writing <Machine Name="BTDSys SampleGrid*" Multithreading="False"/> in gear.xml won't do anything). You are 100% completely, without question wrong. It appears you have busted your Buzz setup somewhere. Probably have a tag messed up somewhere in one of the ...

gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work? PART 2

So I started a topic with the title "gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work?" and some forum folks appear to try to help me, after a while mute (mod) complains about my topic title, which is strange because that was a valid question, but I agree to change it (which doesn't matter becaus...

Re: Graphic EQ

http://bigyo.untergrund.net/buzz/bigyo_parameqlin_v03.zip Algorithm of this linear phase eq is rather simple. It's a second order iir ParamEQ converted to zero-phase fir-filter using forward-backward filtering. So ParamEQLin should sound similar to ParamEQ, except phase response of course. There is...

Re: SGrid1 having issues with copy/paste and templates?

<Machine Name="BTDSys SampleGrid*" Multithreading="False"/> fixes it. I don't understand... You where the person who provided the "real" reason for why this line of code doesn't help, now you are suggesting it is the solution? this line of code, and I've tried using it for specific machine names (i...

Re: SGrid1 having issues with copy/paste and templates?

Fixed the topic. Don't make definitive statements like that when facts are not known. well, I don't need an answer to if Sgrid1 is having issues with copy/past and templates, I think you perfectly well explained it yourself. It needs it's own instance. What is of interest is however, if there are o...

I have now changed the title, so if anyone wants to contribute to this topic,
please let's share knowledge of which machines can't be made into templates
(or copy+pasted in machines view for that matter).

Re: gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work?

I have no problems using SGrid1 (v1.21) with multithreading on, multiple connections to multiple machines, when using SGrid Out, etc.. not a single problem. It is more likely some other machine in your old song files causing issue. It doesn't like oversamplex2, but thats the only issue I've ever ru...

Re: gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work?

ahhh, sorry now i understand the question i think. in gear.xml you are keeping all of the specific machine instances (ie, all your sgrid1's) in the same thread, in settings you are keeping all of the buzz machines in the same thread. If sgrid1 is having problems the way you say, then it is needing ...

Re: gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work?

It could be due to static variables or hacks or any number of old coding practices.. Not worth the effort of looking through the code to find out which even if that code exists imo. If you really need to load those old songs, i would recommend running oldbuzz for them. It's simply impossible to sup...

Re: CPU performance in Buzz 1349 much better than latest bui

On the topic of cpu performance... I've noticed that Buzz performs better(!) on three cores rather than four. A song which peaks (stutters) on four cores, can play well without stutter on 3 cores. I've investigated some about this topic, and I've found that software which for example is written for ...

Re: gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work?

I updated SGrid2 because something inside it didn't like Vista/Win7 and screwed up drumkit file usage. SGrid2 itself was only ever available as a beta and so was mine. I made some other small alterations, including getting rid of static work buffers which are usually the source of multi-thread nois...

I think I'm using the latest one available at buzzmachines.com, I may not know of any ixix update...!
could that be the source of my problems?

SGrid1 having issues with copy/paste and templates? *solved*

edit: title is changed, original title - gear.xml Multithreading="False" does it really work? I am asking this because there are certainly machines which I've set to Multithreading="False" (in gear.xml) and they still won't behave normally (they will generate unwanted click n pops) until I switch to...

Re: "locate machine" feature suggestion

yes, couldn't it simply use the new "wireless" option? I understand it's not "so simply" because it isn't connected to begin with, but using the same function visually, maybe with other background color than white, would be sumthin' It's a bit more complicated then that because of the difference in...

Re: BattleComp Vintage compressor VST updated

Are you sure those CPU spikes come from the compressor and not some other app running in Windows somewhere? It's quite common for Windows to suddenly suck up a lot of CPU in small bursts, because so many weird services are enabled in a normal Windows installation by default. Do you see these spikes...

Re: "locate machine" feature suggestion

Edit: I vaguely remember some machine that would do this, but I seem to have lost the name, anyway iirc, this wasn't optimal. PAL2 does it for btd's machines and a lot of others, you can access it by peerctrl, right click on the machine and select show pal It would be nice to have this in wpf thoug...
