Memory problems

Hi noticed that win 7 was using to much memory idling at 4-6 gig. I used process mon and found out it was windows search and windows media that was stealing everything turned them off went from 4-6 to 1.5 gig memory usage. I also turned off windows defender but only because i have another anti virus to use

This sounds odd though.
On my machines Windows never used more than 1.5 GB RAM (16 GB total amount) idle even with search enabled and Defender should be automatically managed by the third party Anti-Virus software.

i was kinda wondering why it was taking up so much as well. I do have a really big external drive thought it was that. Anyway problem solved.

No it's not it's back looks like i have a memory leak somewhere. Pretty new computer bad driver perhaps
