Hi.
I know how to record changes in parameters to a pattern. Is it also possible to record keypresses?
What I'm after is that I want to record improvisations with drumsamples or melodies on my qwerty keyboard and keep the parts I like.
I assume this should be doable but I haven't figured out how.

C'mon.
Someone must know the answer to this. A simple yes or no will be fine.

The only way I can see, if I understand clearly your question, is to create an empty pattern in Pattern View, enough long to be able to record what you are playing, push play (F5 or F6) and improvise. Then edit your pattern or copy/paste the parts you like in some new patterns. I often work like that to create longer solos by example.

That's how I interpreted the question too - Make sure you've got the 'record' button turned on too if you're doing this methodmagmavander wrote:The only way I can see, if I understand clearly your question, is to create an empty pattern in Pattern View, enough long to be able to record what you are playing, push play (F5 or F6) and improvise. That's how I ended up playing the main lead synths (the super camp ones sounding like a dodgy strip show from the 70s!) here - http://buy.ilovecubus.co.uk/track/gende ... ic-leaving

This is exactly what I want to achieve and I.'ve tried just what you suggest with no luck. What can I be doing wrong?
I'll try through a virtual midi piano tomorrow. Maybe that'll work better.
