Setting your midi controller.

I’m on buzz 1409 windows xp sp3 and the driver I’m using is Polac Asio.

I can not setup my midi controller to use in buzz. can anyone please explain how its done? I see some new features are added in the setting tabs about midi. What is the procedure of setting up the controller in buzz?

The midi controller I’m using is M-audio axiom 49.

i'm using an m-audio keystudio 49 with these settings: masterkeyboardmode=true, midifiltering=true, reopen midi input=false. i think those are the defaults. have you tried going to preferences>midi input and selecting your controller from the dropdown menu?

i am also using the same keyboard but it worked so far. (thru a döpfer pocket control > ESI soundcard)
what soundcard do you use?
is the input even listed in Buzz´s preferences dialog box?

my sound card is M-audio Delta 10/10. should i introduce the controller to the machines as well (midi input channel)? and should i do that on each machine that I'm using one by one by selecting the midi input channel?

You could try using PeerCtrl and assign your controller under "Assignment Settings..." and then "MIDI CC Settings".
That way you can save that PeerCtrl as a template and use it for other projects as well.

With all do its shame I’m still a bit unfamiliar with the endless capabilities that peer controllers has brought to buzz and I need to get educated about them. any pdf or video where I can read and learn about them?

I don't about any videos or written tutorials unfortunately, but tinga's templates from april were like a how to of the various peer controllers you can use. you can find them here. These are especially good for showing how to combine the more advanced controllers (IX Accumulator for example) to modify lots of parameters together.

The main thing to know is that you can assign one track of a contoller to one parameter of a machine. Using PeerLFO (simple and very useful), right click on the peer in machines view, and look for "assign parameter". Select whatever machine and parameter you want, and the track if needed, and then turn the PeerLFO on. The other peers mainly work the same way, with some exceptions like PeerEnv that can convert a normal audio signal into a peer control.

Oh, and I have a PeerCtrl setup for a korg nano kontrol and qsamo template here. It does the sort of thing that reefer suggested, so you might be able to modify the MidiCC's to match your controller.

hmm, it seems to work here. did you try saving it too "my documents\buzz\templates"?

maybe im not understanding your question proper but once youve selected your controller from the midi input drop down menu you can define each of your midi controllers knobs or faders as it would be ( "fader 1" for example) by clicking add and moving the desired fader you want to define.Once you do that you can right click on any machines parameters and "bind to " one of your predefined faders or knobs

also yeah peer control in specific is very easy and flexible to use .. especially if you already have created a template .. hope that helps

oh when you move a fader or hit a key on your controller is the little red midi light in the top right of the screen blinking or anything ?
