Tom fills - (reminiscent of 80s)

Post by Grids »

Hey
I'm wanting to work on my drum fill programming. I particularly love those drum fills that immediately evoke the 80s.

I'm thinking human league - and also contemporary artists like M83 - midnight city, com truise etc

1. I need to work on my programming so they don't sound so robotic. I was wondering if anyone would be open to sharing their bmx files with some drum fills in them. I use Utrk2..but anything would be awesome.

2. I was wondering about production techniques and free samples (any amazing free simmons tom samples)
Is gated reverb really the only key technique to this sound? or is there more...any tips on capturing this sound in buzz

Thanks guys.

Thanks for the example - any other drum machines (from buzz) that you'd recommend
