Build 1482+

Post by IXix »

1483

Code: Select all

- wavetable stuff by antonio and mtronic:
  - 0.5 samples selected bug fixed
  - the correct layer is selected after edit command
  - 0 line doesn't get black when you use left/right keys on keyboard
  - nudging the selection with arrow keys while fully zoomed doesn't move the start/end when crossing over from one side to the other
  - don't allow cursor and selection to go out of range when moving with arrow keys
  - no more drawing artefacts
  - increased visual fidelity of waveform display
  - show selection length as text, not just start and end
  - cursor and selection are movable independantly, do not reset selection just because cursor moves etc
  - auto-convert all layers to a common format (all float if bitdepth differs, all stereo if channel count differs)
  - click the start or end of selection (AdjustmentTarget ) to decide which one to move with shift-arrowkeys
  - visualize the AdjustmentTarget with a line
  - insert silence command
  - gain command
  - double click to select all of wave
1482

Code: Select all

- wavetable bugfixes by antonio and mtronic:
  - fixed negative loopstart bug
  - changed copy/paste behaviour on the wavetable slots
  - internal copy/paste copies the entire waveslot (loop points etc)
  - fixed mono bug with external paste
  - improved mouse selection of wave, will go right to left now
  - fixed delete, trim, and saveselection commands
  - format is kept after edit (keep samplerate and loop points if possible)
  - fixed selection events (right to left works properly now)
  - added WaveformCommandHelpers class
  - added WaveClip class (for serializing waveslot into clipboard)
  - cleaned up a lot of wavetable code to make it easier to extend
Thanks UNZ and Mantratronic. :)

the new arrangement of the buttons in the gui is spot on, very nice. the right click on waveform options are sweet.

I'm clicking about in this area trying to learn what's happening:

Image

but the <<, >>, play, stop, copy, paste, add layer, and clear layer buttons don't seem to do anything. what are these used for and how can i get them working for me?

thanks! :D

they don't do anything yet, still working on it, they will probably work in the next build. they will basically provide the same operations for layers in a slot (multisamples) as you have for the slot right now.

i also found after much experimentation that I couldn't figure out how to layer a sample. is there any documentation on this, or could someone give me a shove in the right direction?

At the moment you can press the << button next to the layers once a sample has been selected in the file browser. Layers are still being implemented, and most machines don't use them.

drag and drop from file browser into layer window also works

Matilde tracker 1, 2 & 3, and probably other trackers, there is no layers window, you see layers in wavetable, down left.

Would it be possible to load 128 samples and to have automatically the notes (c-0 c-9) affected to each sample?
The new wavetable is very nice. Thanks!

Thank you for helping to keep Buzz alive! I sometimes wonder what will happen when Buzz hits 2.0.. Will it go commercial? Also would be absolutely amazing if Buzz could work with rewire.

maybe I'm misunderstanding what we're talking about concerning layers. here's what i'm seeing in build 1483 wavetable view:

Image

i don't see any layer slots, or anything of that nature. let's say for example that I want to take the three snare samples loaded into the wavetable, and layer them into a single sample - can we do this with the new feature? or is there something else this is intended for?

any explanation will help a great deal, i'm pumped for the new feature but feel kind of silly because i can't find it.
