Transfering buzz files between computers
I have some unfinished projects on my old computer that I'd like to finish on my new, better computer. But my new computer tells me the plugins for my VSTs are missing, though I have no trouble with creating new projects. Is it possible to start work on a bmx file on one computer then move it to a different computer and continue working on it?

yeah, its totally possible, i can open bmx from 1999 just fine
as long as you have the same machines and VST installed (and use the same VST loader, did your old bmx use polac vst ?).

Yes it did use polac vst. The computers have different operating systems, but as far as I can tell everything relating to Buzz is the same. Same machines and vsts and same vst loader.
Re: Transfering buzz files between computers
are you sure you have the exact same version of the VSTs ? maybe copy them over from your old machine. also make sure PVST did scan them properly, you might have to set the path for where your VST go.

Could it be 64-bit vs 32-bit versions of the same VSTs ?

It could be an issue of different versions. I put both in the same folder, so is there a way to tell the machines they should be loading Massive(2).dll instead of Massive.dll for example? If I open the .bmx file and then load the correct vst, it comes up with the default "new" patch instead of what I had been using before.

no this won't work most likely. just put 1 dll there (the exact one that the old bmx used), with its original name (not (2) etc). it should recognize it then.

That would interfere with my new .bmx files though, wouldn't it?
Re: Transfering buzz files between computers
When it says that the VST is missing, does it display a file path where it expects to find the .DLL? I've had this problem before when I've loaded VSTs by browsing to the .DLL through Polac VST Loader rather than selecting it from the menu. This saves a hard-coded link to the DLL file which causes problems if you try to load on a PC with a different location/drive letter for the VST files.

That's it. I had to duplicate the file path from my old computer. Thanks a lot.

Glad you fixed it
