m2buzz (MOD/XM/MIDI-to-Buzz converter) not working.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, which might be why m2buzz isn't working. Here's what I'm wondering: Is there a newer version around, or some workaround for this problem?
M2bvc.exe tells me BASS.dll is missing from my system, but It2xm.exe and Easyxmid.exe tell me I need a 32 or 64 bit version of the program, which makes me suspect having BASS.dll (whatever that is) wouldn't change the situation much. It's obviously an outdated utility in any case, but the idea of converting XM files to BMX strikes me as useful, as I've at times thrown together ideas in MilkyTracker on my OpenPandora pocket computer (which is currently in for repairs, but that's a whole other story), and would find it really rather nice to be able to pull these projects into Buzz to do more work on them.
If there's no work around, does anybody know when it last worked? Did it run on 32 bit Windows XP for example? And if so, where do I get BASS.dll and where do I put it?
On a sidenote, the wavetable seems to allow importing of .xi instruments, but I have no idea what machine to use in order for them to work properly (with the multisamples, loop points, envelopes and whatnot). Is there a trick to this? As I've collected a few pretty nice .xi instruments for use in MilkyTracker, it'd be quite nifty to be able to also utilize these instruments in Buzz. Does anybody know if this is possible?
