This is a breakthrough for me. Number one, the song uses the RnZnAnF~ VST adapters, which crash on load if they don't find the correct VST in Gear\VST. So first step was getting every other VST out of that directory and just keeping the ones needed. Number two, make sure you get all your effects/generators in the right places. I just copied over my Buzz directory and installed new Buzz on top of it to keep all my old machines. Old Buzz was much more forgiving about this, but in the newer versions what happens when you load a song with a machine in the wrong folder (effects vs. generators) is the sequence data never loads. So you get the machine view and the samples, but no data.
So thanks to Oskari for making Buzz so backwards compatible! Never thought I'd hear this old stuff again!
2002 and prior song loaded in new Buzz.

Thanks, hopefully this will help me too.
I have been removing the adapters in the song files with that utility...which...i...forget...its...name. That gets the song open but you loose whatever you did on the vst.
