Teething Problems

Post by Somatic »

Just trying to reinstall buzz after a break, and have a couple of old songs not loading and hoping for a couple of fixes:
- Where can i find this file: dxvst.dll (its Polac related but cant find it on site http://www.xlutop.com/buzz/)
- Is 'Cheapo Amp' no longer working? It's in my FX folder, though not recognising it when song loads.
- Is there a way to exclude missing machines when loading? I think it does this, but the song closes when loaded.
- Every time i run Buzz I get a warning: Installed 'Polac VST Loader' (C:\...) is too old. Get the latest version. - Ive installed the latest version, but warning remains.

Thanks

-dxvst.dll is not part of latest polac as far as i know, but pvst should be able to load dx plugins (i think you need to enable it somewhere)
-for cheapo amp you need msvcrt7.dll / msvcrt71.dll, get it from here http://buzzwiki.robotplanet.dk/index.php/Buzz_DLL_files
-i've never seen this, songs with missing machines should load fine, what happens exactly ? does buzz crash ?
-you must have 2 versions of polac installed, make sure you delete all the old stuff from pvst from gear/generators and gear/effects and then copy the latest again.

The dxvst.dll has been replaced by a pdx.dll, don't know why I have renamed this one. It's odd that you get the polac is too old message.

This one here is the latest version:

Thanks for the tips. Pretty much up and running now when starting a new song, which is great and I'm enjoying as much as ever. Sadly, I can't find many of my old, main songs on the computer, so it looks I'll be turning the house upside down to find them over the weekend.

Old Polac files in same folder were causing the warning. Just a few songs that don't load at all; it crashes or gets stuck on a machine loading up, or the machines load without patterns or sequences.

Looks like I'll need a CPU boost too. Does my graphics card take up CPU or assist in Buzz running? I didn't have one before, and the fan on it is pretty noisy.

The GUI uses acceleration, but I'm surprised it turned the fan on.. Buzz becomes quite slow without the hardware acceleration, but you can switch it in options if you'd like to try.
