single cycle waveforms

Post by esp81 »

What's the best way to go about using them in Buzz? I'd prefer to use Matilde but haven't figured out how to get them looping and tuned correctly yet.

Also Jacinth can use them.

I've tried Infector but the waveforms didn't sound right when loaded in it. I didn't even realize Qsamo could load custom waves, that's probably my best option...thanks!

Matilde tracker: wavetable (F9): on the right bottom view you find the editor and then click + drag and right click to set the loop.
Click on the parameters pane to enable the loop.
(External sample editors can make buzz set correct looping automaticly also)

Correcting the pitch can be done by double cliking on the rate of the sample on the left bottom view,
but it's often more easy to set one track in MTrk to have a small difference in pitch by using the E5 XX command (E5 80 is default).

single cycle waveforms are nice to use in ld grain for effects, btw, especially if you have longer and more complex waves that have
both very low and high frequencies.

(BTW, some plugins (don't know exactly which) ignore looppiont-data, like ld grain does, but Matilde doesn't.)
