can buzz crash because of crappy machines in 'gear'?
Hi. is there a reason for not putting all machines there is in gear? I've noticed in my new setup that really old tracks from 2002 that I'd like to finish doesn't crash on start-up as they did before. on the other hand there's not much sound since most machines is not in gear but in that 'more machines'-folder called MDB. What it's the recommendation? only add trusted machines one at the time?

No machine is likely to crash Buzz these days but it's wise to keep your gear tidy.

No it seems far more stable. By keeping ity tidy I assume you mean "only use good reliable machines and clutter down your folder with crap..."

I started with the old "massive pack" from buzzmachines and then got rid of lots that crashed or I didn't find useful but I still have a very messy gear folder. If you've got a fresh install then just add stuff slowly. It's always great discovering a new gem but if you dump too many in at once you won't really know what you've got.
